In the Dominican Republic, DGRV works together with AIRAC (Asociación de Instituciones Rurales de Ahorro y Crédito), an association of rural savings and credit cooperatives.
At meso level, DGRV supports the association with a number of different softwares, for example”Alerta Temprana”, a software to monitor the financial metrics of its member cooperatives.
At micro level, DGRV provides AIRAC with the software “Social Balance” and “Strategic Planning” in order to implement it at its member cooperatives.
AIRAC is an advocacy group and offers various services to its members. The association advises, monitors and provides training for its member cooperatives with the aim of promoting their socio-economic development.
Guatemala is one of the countries with the highest social and economic inequality in the world and a long-standing historical background of social exclusion.
MoreThere are more than 2,500 savings and credit cooperatives (SCC), and production and service cooperatives in the country, which contribute around 5% to the country’s GDP. There are secondary institutions, such as FACACH, the national SCC federation, to which 88 SCC with around 850,000 members are affiliated.
MoreThe project work in Colombia mainly focuses on two key areas: DGRV supports its partner VISIONAMOS, operator of the Red Coopcentral payment system, in running a technical advice program for affiliated credit cooperatives.
